The Southern Grand Loop: 5-Day 4x4 Tour from Agadir to Erg Chigaga
This tour is an invitation to a complete getaway. From the ancient ramparts of Taroudant to the giant dunes of Erg Chigaga, you’ll journey through Morocco’s most breathtaking panoramas: volcanic mountains, lush oases, and dizzying canyons. A 5-day immersion to unplug and embrace the true pace of the desert.
Day 1 : Agadir – Taroudant – Ouarzazate (Circuit 4x4 Agadir - Erg Chigaga)
Heading East! Our first stop is Taroudant, known as “Little Marrakech,” to admire its ancient ramparts. We then travel through Taliouine (the saffron capital) and Taznakht before visiting the legendary Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the star of many Hollywood films.
Night: Charming boutique hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 2 : La Route des Kasbahs – Gorges du Dadès & Todra
We dive into the Valley of the Roses before heading into the mineral landscapes of the Dades Gorges. The day ends on a high note at the foot of the 300m cliffs of the Todra Gorges.
Night: Hotel in the heart of the Tinghir palm grove.
Day 3 : Massif du Saghro – Vallée du Drâa – Zagora
Changement de décor ! On traverse les paysages lunaires et volcaniques du Massif du Saghro. On rejoint ensuite la Vallée du Drâa, immense ruban de palmiers, pour atteindre Zagora, la porte historique des caravanes vers Tombouctou.
Nuit : Hôtel à Zagora.
Day 4 : Zagora – M’hamid – Les Dunes de l’Erg Chigaga
A change of scenery! We cross the lunar and volcanic landscapes of the Saghro Massif. We then join the Draa Valley, a vast ribbon of palm trees, to reach Zagora—the historic caravan gateway to Timbuktu.
Night: Hotel in Zagora.
Day 5 : Lac Iriqui – Foum Zguid – Agadir
Wake up facing the dunes, then cross Lake Iriqui, a vast and mysterious flat expanse. We head back towards Foum Zguid via desert tracks before returning to Agadir, crossing the Anti-Atlas mountains.
