Aït Bougmez Valley Trek – 7 Days / 6 Nights in the Mountains
The Aït Bougmez Valley, famously known as the “Happy Valley,” is nestled in the heart of the Central High Atlas. This 7-day trek offers a total immersion into spectacular landscapes, authentic Berber villages, emerald terraced fields, and a mountain culture that remains beautifully preserved.
Throughout the journey, you will share the daily life of the local inhabitants—renowned for their extraordinary hospitality and generosity—making this a truly unforgettable human and natural experience.
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech – The Gateway to the Atlas
Day 2: From the Red City to the Happy Valley – Ancient Footprints
Departure from Marrakech toward Demnate. Our first stop is Iminifri, where we’ll take a short walk to explore a spectacular natural stone bridge—a geological wonder. We’ll continue to the village of Iouaridene for a leap back in time to see authentic dinosaur footprints.
The scenic mountain road then leads us through the striking “Red Valley” of Aït Boulli before we finally reach the famous “Happy Valley” of Aït Bougmez.
In the afternoon, we begin our trek with a gentle ascent through the Arous Valley, offering your first real glimpse into the daily life and warm hospitality of the Atlas Berbers.

Day 3: Deep into the Happy Valley – Orchards & Berber Life
oday is all about soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of the Aït Bougmez Valley. We’ll wander through charming villages with their timeless traditional architecture, stroll through lush fields lined with apple and walnut trees, and experience the legendary warm welcome of the local people.
A day of pure serenity, perfect for connecting with the soul of the Atlas.

Accommodation: Traditional Gîte (staying with a local family).
Day 4: Living Heritage – The Ancient Granary of Sidi Moussa
Later, we will climb to the ancient marabout and collective granary of Sidi Moussa. We will take a moment there to contemplate the breathtaking 360-degree view over the entire “Happy Valley.”

Day 5: From the High Peaks to Ouzoud Waterfalls
After breakfast, we will take a scenic mountain road toward Azilal. Our destination is the magnificent Ouzoud Waterfalls, standing at 110 meters (360 feet) high. These stunning three-tiered falls on the Ouzoud River are located at an altitude of 1,060 meters in the heart of the Moroccan Atlas.
After exploring the falls and the surrounding trails, we will continue our journey toward Marrakech.

Day 7: Farewell Morocco – Departure from Marrakech
After one last traditional Moroccan breakfast in the peace of your Riad, it’s time to say goodbye. We will provide a private transfer to Marrakech Airport for your return flight.
You will head home with a heart full of unforgettable memories from your adventure in the very heart of Morocco.
