Day 1 : Zagora – M’Hamid – Erg Chigaga (Circuit 4x4 Zagora - Erg Chigaga)
Your journey begins in the early afternoon from Zagora, heading toward M’Hamid, the gateway to the Sahara. Leaving the asphalt behind, your private 4×4 hits the desert tracks and sandy paths for a two-hour crossing. With a bit of luck, you might spot ostriches and other fascinating glimpses of desert wildlife.
You’ll reach Erg Chigaga, Morocco’s largest dune massif, just in time for the sunset. This is the perfect moment for a first camel ride or a walk to explore the dunes and capture the warm light as it sets the sand ablaze. The evening continues at the camp with a traditional dinner and Berber songs by the campfire, under a sky of exceptional clarity.
Day 2 : Randonnée, Sandboarding et vie nomade
Wake up gently to the sunrise over the sandy ridges. After breakfast, embark on a two-hour camel trek through the heart of Erg Chigaga, punctuated by quiet moments of contemplation and a traditional lunch served right in the dunes.
The afternoon is dedicated to sharing and discovery. You’ll visit an oasis and meet a nomadic Berber family to learn about their culture over a traditional tea. Back at the camp, you can soak in the serenity of the dunes or try your hand at sandboarding. For those seeking more thrills, a quad biking session can be arranged upon request.
Day 3 : Erg Chigaga – Zagora
After one last sunrise and breakfast, you’ll leave the dunes behind and head back toward Zagora through the stunning landscapes of the Draa Valley.
A stop in Tamegroute is available to visit the historic Koranic library and the traditional pottery workshops. Your journey concludes around midday at your hotel, leaving you with the spirit of the Sahara to carry home.
