An authentic immersion into the Moroccan south through mountains, oases, green valleys, and Saharan dunes. This 4-day journey takes you from Ouarzazate to the gates of the Sahara in M’Hamid El Ghizlane, all the way to the majestic dunes of Erg Lihoudi and Erg Chigaga, one of Morocco’s most beautiful deserts.
Day 1 : Agadir – Taroudant – Ouarzazate (Circuit 4x4 Agadir - Erg Chigaga)
Early morning departure from Agadir in a private 4×4. Our first stop is Taroudant, known as “Little Marrakech.” We’ll take the time to stroll along its ochre ramparts and soak up the atmosphere of its authentic souks.
We then hit the road toward Ouarzazate, crossing the magnificent landscapes of the Anti-Atlas. Between hidden oases, perched Berber villages, and desert panoramas, you’ll want to stop for photos at every turn! In the late afternoon, we’ll settle into a charming riad for our first dinner featuring local flavors.
Overnight stay: Riad or Hotel in Ouarzazate (Half-board).
Day 2 : Ouarzazate – Aït Ben Haddou – Vallée du Drâa – Erg Lihoudi
After a hearty breakfast, we’ll visit the famous Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah. This UNESCO World Heritage gem might look familiar: it served as the natural backdrop for Game of Thrones and Gladiator.
We’ll then head down the Drâa Valley, a lush green ribbon of palm groves dotted with earthen ksours. After lunch, we set off for M’Hamid, where the road ends and the desert begins. We’ll trade the 4×4 for a camel ride to reach the Erg Lihoudi dunes just in time for sunset.
Evening: Traditional dinner around the campfire under the stars. Overnight stay: Authentic desert camp at Erg Lihoudi.
Day 3 : Erg Lihoudi – Lac Iriki – Dunes de l'Erg Chigaga
Today is “Adventure Day”! We head deep into the wild Sahara, far from everything. We’ll cross the regs (stone deserts) and the vast plateaus of Lake Iriki, a former dry lake offering a horizon as far as the eye can see.
After a picnic in the middle of the desert, we finally reach Erg Chigaga, the largest dune range in Morocco, where dunes reach heights of 300 meters. This is the moment to disconnect: walk through the fine sand, enjoy the absolute silence, and let yourself be swept away by a legendary sunset.
Evening: Local musical entertainment and a magical night under a starry sky like you’ve never seen before. Overnight stay: Desert camp at Erg Chigaga.
Day 4 : Erg Chigaga – Foum Zguid – Agadir
One last sunrise over the sandy ridges before we head back onto the 4×4 trails toward Foum Zguid. We slowly leave the desert behind and reach Taroudant, before returning to the sea breeze of Agadir at the end of the day. The end of this unforgettable Saharan getaway..
